Day 1: Arrive Chennai
On arrival meet and assist at the airport and transfer to pre-booked Hotel.
Chennai: At the southern tip of India in the state of Tamil Nadu, Chennai or Madrasas it was known earlier is its capital city of the state of Tamil Nadu. It is also the third largest metropolis in India. Chennai as the gateway will put you in touch with a different face of India classical, ancient, gentle. Day 2: Chennai – Mahabalipuram (Drive)
After breakfast, half day city tour of Chennai visiting Museum to see the art and bronze gallery (Closed on public holidays). Drive through the Flower & Fruit Market, High Court, Fort Museum, Marina Beach, San Thome cathedral.
Afternoon, leave for Mahabalipuram. Enroute visit Kanchipuram- (64 km from Madras) ancient capital of the Pallavas, famous as a city of 1000 temples that still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th & 8th century & has painting on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasnatha, Sri Kamakshi & Vardarajaewamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silk.
On arrival in Mahabalipuram check in at your pre-booked hotel.
Day 3: Mahabalipuram
After breakfast, visit Mahabalipuram , which was the main port of the Pallava dynasty & has exquisite Rock-cut monuments, monolithic structures & Bas-reliefs. It is also a beach resort. Visit a very interesting creation enroute Dakshin Chitra , a museum that preserves actual houses of different communities & village craftsmen from the four southern states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka& Kerala.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (Drive)
After breakfast, leave for Pondicherry. On arrival check in at pre-booked hotel.
Afternoon, sightseeing of Pondicherry which was formerly a French Colony. Settled early in the 18th century Pondicherry became part of the Indian Union in the early 50s when the French voluntarily relinquished control. The main attraction here is the Aurobindo Ashram which was founded by Sri Aurobindo in 1926. The ashram is one of the most popular in India with westerners, and is also one of the most affluent. Also to be visited is the Pondicherry Museum which has a well displayed variety of exhibits ranging from French furniture to this history of bead making.
Day 5: Pondicherry – Tanjore (Drive)
After breakfast, leave for Tanjore. On arrival check in at hotel.
Afternoon, visitTanjore(Thanjavur) which was the ancient capital of Chola kings. Visit the Brihadishwara temple which was built by Raja Raja and is termed as the crowning glory of Chola temple architecture. This temple is one of the monuments in India with World Heritage listing. Also visit the Thanjavur Palace which was constructed in 1550 and has huge corridors, spacious halls, observation and arsenal towers.
Day 6: Tanjore – Trichy – Srirangam – Madurai (Drive)
After breakfast, leave for Madurai. Enroute visit the Rock Fort Temple in Trichy(Tiruchirapalli) and the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam – This superb temple complex is surrounded by seven concentric walls with 21 gopurams and is probably the largest in India. Most of it dates back from 14th to 17th centuries. The largest gopuram was completed as recently as 1987, and now measures an astouning 73 meters. After visiting Srirangam, continue drive to Madurai.

Day 7: Madurai – Periyar (Drive)
After breakfast, visit Madurai one of the oldest cities in South India and has been a center of learning & pilgrimage for centuries. Visit Madurai’s main attraction Sri Meenakshi temple which attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over India. The temple is named after the daughter of a Pandyan King. Designed in 1560 by Vishwanatha Nayak, the present temple was substantially built during the reign of Tirumalai Nayak (1623-55 AD), but its history goes back 2000 years to the time when Madurai was the capital of Pandya Kings.
Afternoon, leave for Periyar (Thekkady). On arrival in Periyar check in at pre-booked Hotel.
Day 8: Periyar
Afternoon, boat ride on the Lake Periyar where one can have a unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar, however are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake.
After lunch, proceed for a spice plantation visit where one can see the cultivation of a whole range of spices like pepper, cardamom, cloves, turmeric, vanilla, all spice cinnamon etc. This is followed by a visit to spice shops which are found in the small town of Kumily just 01 km from the hotels.
Day 9: Periyar – Kumarakom (Overnight Backwater Trip Till Alleppey)
After breakfast, leave for Kumarakom in time to board houseboat for overnight backwater trip from Kumarakom to Alleppey.
1300 hrs – Commence an overnight houseboat cruise, which gives one a fascinating insight into the life of a Kerala Backwater Village. As the boat glides along the backwaters one can see the daily life in the backwater villages. On the narrow strips of land, fisherman fishing, children swimming and playing in the water, women doing their daily chores, mobile shops in tiny canoes, the cultivation of paddy and it’s harvesting (during harvest season), huge country barges ferrying the coconuts, rice, coir etc.
Note : The cruise commences at 1300 hrs with lunch served on board and continues till dusk. At dusk the boat will anchor in a wide waterway or lake for the night. (The backwaters close to boat traffic at dusk as the fisherman lay their nets in the backwaters. Other boats are not allowed to ply in the backwaters after dusk.) On the following day the cruise commences again after breakfast and you will be dropped back at Alleppey at 1000 hrs.
Day 10: Alleppey – Kochi (Drive)
Arrive Alleppey at 1000 hrs and transfer to Kochi. Arrive Kochi and check in at pre booked Hotel.
Afternoon, visit Cochin the city of lagoons. Visit the St. Francis Church, India’s oldest European Church was constructed in 1503 by Portuguese; Chinese Fishing Nets, strung out along the top of Fort Cochin; Mattancherry Palace or The Dutch Palace, built by Portugese in 1557, this palace was presented to the Raja of Cochin, Veera Kerala Verma. The palace’s alternative name, the Dutch Palace, resulted from substantial renovations by the Dutch after 1663.
Day 11: Cochin – Bangalore (By Flight, Dn 220, 0730-0845 Hrs)
Early morning, transfer to the airport to board flight for Bangalore. Arrive Bangalore and transfer to pre booked Hotel.
Afternoon, city tour of Bangalore – “city of gardens”. Visit, theo Vidhan Sudha It houses the State’s Legislature and Secretariat, Nandi Temple One of the oldest temple, popularly known as the Bull temple.
Day 12: Bangalore – Hassan (Drive)
After breakfast, leave for Hassan, enroute visiting Sravanabelagola, one of the oldest and most important Jain pilgrimage centers in India, and the site of the 17m high statue of Gomateshvara, said to the world’s tallest monolithic statue an important Jain religious centre a colossal Gomateshwara statue.

Day 13: Hassan – Mysore (Drive)
After breakfast, excursion to Hoysala Temples of Halebid & Belur. Visit the Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebid which is the most outstanding example if Hoysala art. At Belur, visit the Channekeshava temple is the only one at the three Hoysala sites still in daily use.
Afternoon, leave for Mysore. On arrival in My sore check in at pre booked Hotel.
Day 14: Mysore
After breakfast, visit the magnificent city on the foothills of Mount Chamundi. Visit the Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, this palace was the seat of the Maharajas of Mysore. Day 1: Arrive Delhi
On arrival in Delhi, you will be met and assisted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi – Corbett National Park
The drive from Delhi to Corbett National Park, will take nearly 6 hours by road. We arrive at the campsite by noon. After lunch, we drive on for Dhangarhi gate for entry to the Dhikala Tourism area. This visit is followed by dropping anchorage at the all important interpretation center.
Once the destination of our choice is reached, then one can choose to be enthralled by a Jeep Safari deep cutting through the dense and sylvan thickets of Jim Corbett Park. This Safari Tour will also enable you to embark on a lower jungle track along the treacherous Ramganga river, escorted by an expert guide. You will cross the river at the Gethia Rao bridge to head for the Kanda Range, where Jim Corbett famously terminated the notorious Kanda man-eater. Arrive at the main tourist complex, Dhikala. Check-in to your resort and relax for the day. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Day 3: Corbett National Park
Start your day with an early morning Elephant Safari through the open and expansive grasslands and dense forests on a secret and well preserved route. Elephant safari is the best modus operandi for wildlife viewing in the Corbett National Park tour. One can return back to the hotel complex for breakfast and then again drive by jeep to the scenic lake area to catch the spectacle of Marsh crocodiles relishing in a strongly out sun. Day 2: Mumbai
Morning after breakfast visit Elephanta Caves – one hour boat ride across Mumbai Harbour brings lush green Elephanta Island. Here, visit some of the huge and intricately carved Elephanta Caves that date back to the 8th century. Afternoon, city tour of Bombay – visiting ‘Gateway of India’ overlooking the Harbour, the ‘Towers of Silence’, ‘Marine Drive’, the ‘Colaba Causeway’ – the commercial heart of Bombay and the Dhobi Ghat, the unique and colourful outdoor ‘laundry’. Day 3: Mumbai – Aurangabad
Morning transfer to railway station to connect train # 7617 Tapovan Express dep. Mumbai at 06:10 hrs ar. Aurangabad at 13:30 hrs. Check into hotel. Afternoon city tour of Aurangabad visiting Bibi-Ka-Muqbara, Aurangabad Caves and Daulatabd Fort. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Aurangabad – Excursion to Ellora Caves
Morning visit Ellora Caves – 30 kms from Aurangabad lie the finest rock cut cave temples of Ellora – 10th & 11th century, which encompasses the three religion – Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Of the 34 caves that are both monasteries and temples, the most remarkable is the magnificent Kailasa temple. The entire structure was carved out of a monolith and took over 100 years to complete. (Ellora Caves closed on all Tuesdays). Drive back to Hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Aurangabad – Jalgaon – Bhopal
After breakfast drive to Ajanta Caves – located 100 kms, a 2½ hour drive, northeast of Aurangabad in the Waghora valley. These magnificent rock-cut caves, 30 in number, date from 2nd BC to 7th Century AD. They are exclusively Buddhist, unique in that they combine three forms of Art – architecture sculpture and painting. Later transfer to Jalgaon Railway Station to connect train # 2627 Karnatak Express dep. 16:50 hrs. arr. 23:45 hrs. Transfer to hotel for overnight train stay. (Ajanta caves are closed on Mondays).
Day 6: Bhopal – Agra
Sightseeing tour of Saanchi Stupa. A lot of Buddhist travelers across the world visit this serene hill crowned by a group of stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from 3rd century BC to 12th century AD. Afternoon connect Train # 2001 Bhopal Shtabadi Express dep. Bhopal at 14:50 hrs arrive Agra at 20:35 hrs. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 7: Agra – Varanasi
Morning sightseeing tour visiting the magnificent Taj Mahal, which is entirely made of white marble and its walls are decorated with exquisite Pietra Dura (stone inlay) work. Post lunch tour of the imposing Agra Fort – built of red sandstone and marble is a hilltop citadel with fabulous courtyards, fountains and gates. Day 8: In Varanasi
Arrive Varanasi in the morning and transfer to hotel visiting Sarnath enroute, the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Afternoon proceed for the city tour visiting various temples including The Vishwanath Temple, built by the Birlas, was planned by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. The Bharat Mata Temple houses, instead of gods and goddesses, a huge relief map in marble of the whole of Indian subcontinent. The Tulsi Manas Temple, built in 1964, is dedicated to Lord Rama. Evening view “Aarti” ceremony on the Ghats. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9: Varanasi – Bodhgaya (242 Kms / 07 hrs)
Morning take a Boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats and later we drive to Bodhgaya. Arrive Bodhgaya and check – in at hotel. Bodhgaya – most sacred place for Buddhists as it has a Peepul tree under which Gautama the Buddha attained enlightenment some 2500 years back. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: In Bodhgaya
After breakfast embark on a sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya visiting Mahabodhi Temple – depicting the various phases of Buddha’s journey towards enlightenment, showing different aspects of his life; Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum – houses a small collection of Buddhist sculpture from the 1st century B.C, to the 11th century A.D; Jagannath Temple close by has a four armed statue of Shiva in black stone. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Bodhgaya – Patna (109 Kms – 4.5 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Patna. Enroute visit Gridhakuta Hill and Bimbisara Jail in Rajgir. Proceed to Nalnada (14 kms from Rajgir) which was one of the oldest Universities of the world and International Centre for Buddhist studies. Arrive Patna. Post lunch city tour visiting Har Mandir Sahib – also known as Patna Sahib consecrates the place where the 10th Guru of the Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh was born in 1776; Golghar – is a large dome-like structure from where one can have a fine view of the Ganga and the surroundings of the city; Patna Museum – has a rich collection of Mauryan and Buddhist sculptures, terracotta and other interesting items of the items. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Patna – Kushinagar (253 Kms – 07 hrs)
Morning drive to Kushinagar, on arrival check – in at hotel. Later we visit the Rambhar Stupa – which marks Lord Buddha’s cremation ground. Our second stop is Mahaparinirvana temple – which houses the recumbent figure of Lord Buddha. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13: Kushinagar – Saravasti (Balrampur) – (216 Kms – 05 hrs)
Morning drive to Balrampur. On arrival check – in at hotel. Afternoon visit Sahet-Mahet. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 14: Saravasti – Lumbini (197 Kms – 4.5 hrs)
Morning drive to Lumbini. Arrive Lumbini and check – in at hotel. Lumbini is the place where Buddha was born 2500 years ago. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 15: Lumbini – Kathmandu (By flight)
Half Day sightseeing of Lumbini and later at 1545 hrs. Transfer to airport to board flight for Kathmandu (Buddha Air Flight). Arrive Kathmandu at 1620 hrs and transfer to hotel. Day 16: In Kathmandu
After breakfast embark on a city tour of Kathmandu visiting Pashupatinath Temple – the most sacred of the Hindu temples in Nepal dedicated to lord Shiva, built in 1696. Carry on the sightseeing tour of the Patan – a city of architecture and fine arts. Sometimes known as “Town with a Thousand Golden Roofs”. Visit Tibetan Handicraft center at Jawalakhel to watch carpet weaving.
Post lunch Sightseeing tour of Swayambhunath – the oldest Buddhist shrine. Looking east from here, one can see the entire Kathmandu valley spread out below. A short drive will take to Boudhanath – the worlds largest Stupa; a sight of great reneration to the Buddhist. The most interesting thing about the temple are the rats who scamper freely within the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. After breakfast visit Goddess Kali, the Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple with a lovely images of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Vishnu Temple of Shiva, which is the largest & most typical of temples. Visit the Eastern group of temples that consist of the Parasvanath Temple - the only Jain Temple surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the Sanctum, the Javeri Temple dedicated to Vishnu. Day 17: Jaisalmer to Bikaner (330 KM, 04:25 Hours). Guide
After breakfast drive to Bikaner. On arrival check in hotel and take rest. After rest visit Sadul Singh Museum & Jain Temple, visit Junagarh fort and Lalgarh palace. Evening visit camel biding centre & rate temple.. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18: Bikaner to Mandawa (190 Km, 03:00 Hours) Guide Not Required
After breakfast drive to Mandawa. On arrival check in hotel and take leisure rest. Evening visit Bisnidhar Newatia Haveli & Thakur Ji Temple. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19: Mandawa to New Delhi (240 Km, 04:30 Hours)
After breakfast visit Mandawa fort, Murmuria haveli, Goenka Chatri & Gulab Rai ladia Haveli. After noon drive to New Delhi. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20: New Delhi & Old Delhi
After breakfast sightseeing of New Delhi where you Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar, India Gate and the Presidents House, Red fort, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial. Also visit Laxmi Narayan temple popularly known as Birla Temple. Overnight at hotel.

Day 21: New Delhi to Home
